Portraits - MoM  focuses on the ideas serve as a constant source of inspiration for me, triggering numerous impulses, associations and concepts. It deals with ideas and motifs that serve as a personal source of renewal every day. All components represent constallations, which revolve around one another and interfere each other. They are to be magnets for imagination and delineate a poetic picture of time.
The moon is Earth’s only natural satellite and nearest large celestial body. It is a point of reference on account of its various different layers of meaning, first and foremost because it marks both time and space at every moment in its constant motion in orbit, but also because of changing its physical, luminous appearance facing us every night.
The lateral surface of the cylinder is made of clear acrylic glass covered with translucent paper, both of the inserted parallel circular planes are made out of different colored Plexiglas with the letters, numbers or openings milled out.
One side of the volume shows specific information about the moon on a certain day at a specific point in time: 1st The definitive date, 2nd The precise moment that the calculations were requested and calculated, 3rd The phase of the moon, 4th The distance and 5th The size of the illuminated part of the moon surface stated in percentage.The last criterium leads to the other plane, openings are milled according to the percentage value.
The illuminant consists of two circular surfaces with five neon tubes inserted in between. Both ambient light and light from the illuminant penetrate the structure via slots on both sides, giving it a glowing effect.
